As I reflect on my story, I see very distinct chapters. Each chapter represents a set of people, a focus, and a place. There is a clear beginning and then an end. It closes and the next one starts.
I live in the current chapter. Past chapters are a distant story, part of my life narrative, but completed, and already read. I tend to resist paging back to previous chapters. I want to fully live in this chapter, and dream of the next one.
My TCK chapter book reads less like a cohesive story and more like a compilation of short stories. Each story has its own unique cast and plot. And when the next chapter opens, a brand new set of people, a fresh focus, a new place emerges.
Reading a TCK chapter book can feel disjointed, even volatile. That is the story of a TCK. Ever navigating beginnings and endings. Seeing life as a chapter book, with each chapter its own story.
